Today we have a blog post from Shorewest agent Pat Tasker on a great event — Doors Open Milwaukee. Read the post below and check out her blog Suburbs of Greater Milwaukee.

Have you ever wondered just what’s inside the Rockwell Clock Tower, below the decks of the Dennis Sullivan Schooner, what’s in the basement of the Pabst Mansion, what backstage of Uihleen Hall looks like or wanted a peek inside the Gazebo at the Wisconsin Club?

Many unique Milwaukee landmarks offer you that chance this weekend when Doors Open Milwaukee kicks off!

Notable locations will open doors, and not just the front door! Interesting behind-the-scenes look that give visitors background on Milwaukee’s architecture, history and culture and how that is expressed in these locations.

This FREE event offers 125 guided tours, no tickets needed, and 43 in-depth ticketed tours, this guide will help you pick a few favorites to check out. The selection offers a wide variety from breweries, churches and cathedrals, hotels, mansions, bridge houses, museums, a Frank Lloyd Wright home and even a vacant plot of land know as Blue Dress Park. As a lifelong resident of Milwaukee, I have a long list I’d like to see. Paring down the list will be hard to do!
